Subregional Finance Manager
The Subregional Finance Manager is responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and to ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. As well as responsibility for the regional Finance team they would also play a vital role in the region’s management team and provide knowledgeable insights into the business and how Finance can support the business units.
Main Tasks
- Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly reporting for a family-owned business and annual accounts for local and group audit
- Reconciliation of local audit reports to German GAAP
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
- Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met internally and externally
- Management of the P&L and Balance sheet to the prepared stage to pass to Group
- Cost centre reporting and communicating to the business units
- P&L analysis against forecast and variances
- Travel & Entertainment reporting, tracking and communication
- Cost and Purchase controls and process including monthly rolling forecast
- Monthly Balance Sheet preparation, reconciliation and posting (Prepayments/Fixed Assets/Accruals)
- Reporting and liaison regarding local regulations for all countries
- Cash forecasting
- Liaison with the banks
- Prepare for financial audit and coordinate the audit process
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
- Present data to Finance and non-Finance colleagues on a regular basis
- Act as a consultant and provide relevant data and knowledgeable feedback to the business when required to also include project work
- Management responsibility for the Finance Team to include coaching and mentoring
Requirements
- 3-5 years practical accounting/finance experience – commercial attitude
- Qualified Accountant
- Management Experience
- Relevant experience in a commercial role/environment preferable
- Strong and proven ability to communicate effectively
- Previous exposure to audit requirements in the region
- Strong analytical ability
- Demonstrable Excel to include pivot tables, VLOOKUP, graphs/tables, filters and sorting
- Language – Fluent in English, French and Dutch
- Belgian registered citizen
