Development Engineer Electronics (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Professional Development Engineer Electronics to help shape the hardware foundation for digital audio processing. In this role, you will design and validate platforms, modules, and reference designs that serve as reusable building blocks across multiple products and product families.

You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of development engineers from Audio DSP, acoustics, and mechanics. Your work ensures that complex system requirements—such as performance, reliability, and integration readiness—are solved once at the platform and module level, enabling efficient and scalable product development.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize reusable electronic building blocks and adapt reference schematics for use across multiple product families.
  • Design, build, and bring up reference and carrier boards, including rapid prototyping concepts.
  • Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and system testing to validate designs and verify requirements.
  • Execute structured validation and concept testing before handover to devices teams.
  • Coordinate system solutions with audio DSP, acoustics, and mechanics and ensure smooth integration into complex systems.
  • Support devices teams during integration through schematic reviews, bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting; feed lessons learned back into platform improvements.
  • Create and maintain documentation (e.g., design guides, layout rules, bring-up checklists, troubleshooting guides) and contribute to interdisciplinary reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and quality measures so reference designs are robust, manufacturable in-house, and easy to adopt.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master’s or Diploma degree in communications engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field or a relevant technical apprenticeship combined with several years of professional experience in relevant engineering domains
  • Strong experience in electronic design and schematic development
  • Ability to design with modular thinking: reusability, robustness, and integration simplicity
  • Expertise in development tools, e.g. Altium Designer
  • Experience with AD/DA conversion and the associated analog front-end / amplifier stages
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and driving alignment across disciplines
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to communicate engineering intent clearly
  • Additional qualifications or training in developing electronic designs for audio solutions
  • Experience in firmware development, e.g. in order to support board bring up
  • Solid knowledge of audio DSP processors, e.g. SHARC+, SHARC FX, or comparable DSP architectures

What you can expect from us:

• Inspiring Work Environment: Become a part of our international family business, where a modern and dynamic work atmosphere awaits you. At Sennheiser, people and their mindset are at the heart of everything we do  - they are our most valuable asset.
• Flexible Working Models: We offer flexible working hours and mobile work options to help you balance your professional and personal life.
• International Collaboration: Look forward to working in a global team collaboration and contributing to exciting projects that shape the future of audio.

The audio world is diverse — from concerts and lecture halls to streaming platforms, meeting spaces, and studio recordings. So are we at Sennheiser. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, regardless of gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, disability, or age.
