Business Development Manager

This Business Development Manager (SeAsia) is responsible for driving new strategic business opportunities across customers and prospects within the identified vertical(s); (e.g. Pro Sound – Broadcasters, Touring & Rental, Theatres, Live Sound, Recording Environments, Corporate, Higher Education etc.). This role focuses on consultative selling, stakeholder engagement, and the origination and development of complex, project-based opportunities aligned to customer needs. As an expert at nurturing lasting relationships, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving long-term sustainable commercial growth, meeting and exceeding territory Opportunity Value targets and sub-regional sales objectives as well as assigned KPIs. The Business Development Manager will have a strong technical proficiency, and be confident in being able to configure and demonstrate Sennheiser and Neumann solutions, while being able to convey the benefits of the value proposition.

 

This position will work closely with other functions such as Sales Managers, Inside Sales Representatives, and Technical Application Engineering in the structured sales process.

 

Acquisition and Prospecting:

  • Approach and create demand with new and existing End Customers including (winning back) competitive accounts
  • Tap into sales potential through presence at the market (trade-fairs, sales or customer events)
  • Develop End Customer project based opportunities

 

Active Selling:

  • Conduct detailed meeting preparation, including usage of tools (e.g. need and solution assessment)
  • Stimulate desire by presenting Sennheiser Group USPs for hardware and software solutions (possibly in cooperation with Technical Application Engineering)
  • Understand project pipeline, needs and opportunities
  • Involve other Sennheiser functions (Sales Manager, Technical Application Engineering) in case of concrete opportunities. Hand over full project responsibility to SM in case of tender/proposal
  • Act as focal point of contact to End Customer during tender
  • Conduct product demonstrations
  • Develop and nurture long-term customer relationships at multiple touch points within target companies

 

Project Development:

  • Understand End Customer structure and decision-making process
  • Analyze End Customer needs and outline opportunities
  • Develop strong relationship to the relevant stakeholders on End Customer side
  • Analyze market/competitors

 

Order Management:

  • Hand over all End Customer projects to Sales Managers
  • Manage (pre-order) forecast

 

Customer Service:

  • Help End Customers with technical Advice and solutions
  • Bring in technical Application Engineer or other support functions, if needed
  • Gather market feedback and needs report this to central departments

 

Administration:

  • Document Visitation activities, leads, opportunities and projects in CRM

 

What You Bring:

  • Proven consultative selling skills with the ability to identify needs and position solutions effectively
  • Strong technical knowledge of Professional Audio, AV, or related industries
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a results-driven approach to work
  • Strong prospecting and business development skills
  • Collaborative team player who can work across functions and levels
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own territory

 

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in any discipline; candidates with a strong sales track record may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of B2B or field sales experience, preferably in Professional Audio, AV, IT, or a related technical industry
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on knowledge in the AV or IT/networking space
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken); ability to communicate in Mandarin or other regional languages is an advantage
  • Possession of a valid Singapore Class 3/3A driving licence is an advantage, as the role requires regular travel island-wide to meet clients
