Country Manager

 

As a Country Manager, you are a role model and legal representative in Singapore office, accountable for overall business performance, governance, people leadership, and alignment with global strategy. You will report to the Head of Operations, APAC and you are responsible to foster strong cross-functional collaboration, balancing the global HQ standards with local execution.  

 

This role operates within a multinational, matrix organisation and requires an empathetic leader with high emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.  

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and represent the SE Asia entity as Country Manager and legal director. 

  • Manage subsidiary according to legal requirements, ensure strong governance, compliance, and risk management. 

  • Lead local operations and chair the local leadership team. 

  • Set clear expectations, priorities, and ways of working across functions, including setting local policies. 

  • Exercise local decision judgement on business-critical matters. 

  • Partner closely with regional and global stakeholders. 

  • Foster a professional, collaborative, and accountable local culture. 

  • Serve as the senior local representative of the SE Asia entity with external partners, stakeholders and industry peers. 

 

Ideal Profile 

  • Senior leadership experience (Country Manager, General Manager, or equivalent). 

  • Proven ability to lead in matrix or multi-stakeholder environments. 

  • Comfortable making decisions without relying on formal authority. 

  • Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Calm, credible, and decisive leadership style. 

  • High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity. 

 

Industry background is helpful but not essential. Leadership maturity matters more.
