Sounds good? Join us as

Senior Development Engineer Transmission Technology (m/f/d) Wireless Foundation

We are looking for an experienced specialist in DECT technology to strengthen our R&D team in a key technical role. In this position, you will actively shape the technological foundation of our future product portfolio – from the initial architectural idea, through conceptual development, all the way to system-level implementation. You will collaborate closely with a strong, interdisciplinary team and contribute your expertise to develop high‑performance, robust, and forward‑looking wireless solutions.
If you enjoy contributing to standards, solving complex technical challenges, and driving innovation, then you are the perfect fit for us.

Your responsibilities:

  • You independently develop architecture and design concepts for wireless communication systems as well as digital signal processing algorithms based on the DECT NR+ transmission standard.
  • You conduct analyses, simulations, and measurements (e.g., performance, robustness, timing, interference, coverage) to derive system requirements, evaluate architecture options, and identify optimization potential.
  • You actively contribute to the DECT NR+ stack (PHY/MAC), including implementation, optimization, and debugging in embedded environments.
  • You plan and manage defined functional blocks and take responsibility for scheduling, technical coordination, risk management, and tracking work packages in interdisciplinary teams.
  • You conduct and moderate technical reviews, architecture workshops, design discussions, and decision‑making processes with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • You take part in international standardization bodies and funded research projects by contributing technical requirements and participating in discussions and review processes.
  • You provide mentoring and knowledge transfer for junior and professional engineers and help strengthen team‑wide expertise in wireless technologies and the DECT NR+ standard.
  • You prepare technical documentation (architectures, concepts, specifications, interfaces, test concepts) in close collaboration with purchasing, testing/qualification, manufacturing, service, project management, and systems engineering.
  • You identify innovation opportunities and contribute to shaping the technological roadmap – with a focus on strategic reuse of architectural components, guidelines, and development and integration methodologies.

Your Qualifications:

  • You hold a completed Master’s or Diploma degree in communications engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
Alternatively, you have a relevant technical apprenticeship combined with several years of professional experience in wireless systems, signal processing, or embedded stack development.
  • Ideally, you bring additional qualifications or training in modern mobile/wireless communication systems or system architecture.
  • You have solid knowledge and hands‑on experience with DECT NR+ (PHY/MAC), ideally including implementation and optimization on embedded systems.
  • You possess a deep understanding of wireless transmission methods and digital signal processing, particularly in areas such as channel coding, time/frequency synchronization, and robustness mechanisms.
  • You have experience in embedded stack development (C/C++) and confidently use Python and/or MATLAB for analysis, simulation, and prototyping.
  • Experience integrating baseband algorithms and signal processing into hardware (e.g., DSPs, FPGAs, SoCs) is an advantage.
  • Ideally, you have experience or active involvement in standardization bodies and are comfortable working with norms, specifications, and requirements.

You are motivated to work with open‑source stacks and contribute to open‑development models (e.g., collaborative development, community contributions).

What you can expect from us:

• Inspiring Work Environment: Become a part of our international family business, where a modern and dynamic work atmosphere awaits you. At Sennheiser, people and their mindset are at the heart of everything we do  - they are our most valuable asset.
• Flexible Working Models: We offer flexible working hours and mobile work options to help you balance your professional and personal life.
• Attractive Contract Benefits: Enjoy a collective agreement that includes holiday and Christmas bonuses, the choice between a 35-hour or 40-hour workweek, and a company pension plan to support your future.
• Childcare Support: Our on-site daycare center “Ohrwürmchen” ensures your little ones are well cared for while you focus on your work.
• Diverse Perks: Employee discounts, subsidized healthy meals in our cafeteria, Hansefit, workation opportunities, and bike leasing through JobRad are just a few of the many great benefits we have in store for you.
• International Collaboration: Look forward to working in a global team collaboration and contributing to exciting projects that shape the future of audio.
